TablaCognita

Terms of Service

Last updated: March 7, 2026

By using TablaCognita ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

TablaCognita is a hosted collaborative markdown editor that enables real-time co-editing between humans and AI agents via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The server acts as a relay — routing messages between your browser and AI clients — without storing document content.

2. Accounts

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

4. Your Data

TablaCognita operates on a zero-data hosting model:

5. AI Agent Access

When you connect an AI agent to TablaCognita, the agent can read and modify your document through MCP tools. You are responsible for the AI agents you connect and the actions they take on your documents. TablaCognita provides collision avoidance tools (locks, optimistic concurrency) but does not guarantee against data loss from AI edits.

6. Billing and Subscriptions

7. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TablaCognita and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of the Service.

Because documents are stored only in your browser, we are not responsible for data loss resulting from browser closure, cache clearing, device failure, or any other local event.

9. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the content you create using TablaCognita. We claim no ownership of your documents. The TablaCognita service, its code, design, and branding are proprietary unless otherwise noted (the standalone open-source editor is Apache 2.0 licensed).

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your account data will be deleted from our servers.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
